Capture the Soul of Didsbury: The DAF26 Plein Air Open

This summer, the streets of Didsbury village become your studio. On Sunday 28th June, we invite you to join the DAF26 "Visible Invisible" Plein Air Open—a one-day challenge to capture the spirit of our village in the open air.

The Challenge

Look deeper into your surroundings. Will you paint the Visible—our iconic landmarks and bustling terraces—or reveal the Invisible—the hidden alleyways, fleeting shadows, and quiet, overlooked details? Whether you use oils, watercolours, or pencil, we want to see Didsbury through your eyes.

The Day at a Glance

• Register and stamping: 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Didsbury Library (£5 entry / Free for ages 10–19). Bring your blank canvas or paper to be stamped.

• Create: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm across Didsbury Village. All work must be completed on-site.

• Submit: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Didsbury Baptist Church.

• Celebrate: Join us at 7:30 pm for a Pop-Up Exhibition at Didsbury Baptist Church at the DAF26 Community Celebration and the announcement of the Plein Air Prizes.
