BIG BURNAGE PARADE - 5th JULY

Join the parade, or come out and support, as it proudly processes from Burnage Lane to Fog Lane Park between 11.30-1pm on Sunday 5th July. DAF 2026 is delighted to be working with people and organisations across Burnage to conceive and deliver the inaugural Big Burnage Parade, a large-scale creative project aimed at making the local communities more visible, in one of the more overlooked wards that neighbour Didsbury.
Drawing on the history of parading in the area, and following the Big Burnage Animal Parade 2017, run for younger residents by community development officers at Burnage Library, the parade will connect the upper reaches of Burnage Lane with south west Burnage, crossing the A34, proceeding down Westcroft Rd, and ending in Fog Lane Finale where Burnage, Withington and Didsbury meet (see separate details about the Fog Lane Finale).
The community partners leading the project are Burnage Library, Burnage Community Centre, Westcroft Community Centre and Didsbury Arts Festival, supported by Manchester City Council, artists Phoebe Foxtrot and Heather Skowood, producers Leeway Creative Production and a network of local community groups, schools and religious organisations.
Are you part of a community group based in Burnage? Would you like to join the parade? Would you like financial and/or artistic support to build the profile of your group, for in the parade and afterwards? Email bigburnageparade@gmail.com for info.
