Evening

Taylor and The Mason & Pablo

Didsbury United Reformed Church, Parkfield Road South, Manchester, M20 6DA

An evening of folk-tinged sounds from two outstanding local bands.
Music's finest duo since Oxide and Neutrino packed it in, Taylor & the Mason are two lovely ladies from Manchester who have a strong interest in good harmonies, playing guitars, and drinking gin.
Pablo will perform songs from their debut album Take Flight. Originally recorded in the arid surroundings of Joshua Tree, California with a group of American musicians, the duo will be joined by an ensemble of strings and brass players to reinterpret the recording with local musicians for this unique performance.

Music’s finest duo since Oxide and Neutrino packed it in, Taylor & the Mason are two lovely ladies from Manchester with a strong interest in good harmonies, playing guitars and drinking gin. Fresh from their sell out Album Launch at First Chop Brewing Arm, and successful Pledge Music Campaign, Taylor & The Mason, along with their six-piece band, are about to take to the road promoting their self-titled debut album.

Recorded and mixed by The Travelling Band’s Adam and Jo at Pinhole Studio, the album is a dynamic production featuring both the full band, the rich, vibrant sound of their voices, and the duo in their stripped back acoustic finery. Their close-nit harmonies and chiming guitars compliment their heartfelt songs.

‘Cheeky arrangements, smart and often playful lyrics, and harmonies to die for...shimmering, buoyant and heartfelt music’ Vada magazine

“This is perfect acoustic pop with all the harmonies, balance and dynamics you would expect from these two very talented ladies and their equally talented band” Manchester Rocks

The longstanding musical partnership between Manchester-based Simon Borkin and Hannah Newcomb, Pablo perform songs from their debut album Take Flight. Originally recorded in the arid surroundings of Joshua Tree, California with a group of American musicians they met on their travels, Pablo have sought to recreate the folk-tinged sound with local musicians here in Manchester. The duo will be joined by an ensemble of strings and brass players to reinterpret the recording for this unique performance.
