Didsbury Arts Festival

Didsbury Arts festival is a volunteer led multi arts festival celebrating creative culture in Didsbury, through working with local, national and international artists. 

We are a biennial festival. The next edition will take place from 24th June - 2nd July 2017. The festival theme will be Roots. If you would like to join the 2017 team, please get in touch.

A joining in event for anyone over 7 years of age, yet some intelligent 6-year-olds have found these activities engaging. These include drawing ships and camels, singing, listening to storytelling and moving hands in the fashion of waves, fishes and guillemots. 'Awesomely mundane' - Independent.  'Delightfully inventive' - Observer.

About the Artist

John Hegley, one of the country’s  most popular contemporary poets and a comedian. He is a regular sell-out at The Edinburgh Festival. He has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, the USA Comedy Festival in Aspen, with Ulrika Jonsson & Anita Dobson in The Pyjama Game and on BBC R4's Hearing With Hegley. 

John Hegley is widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name.
